The Nikon D6 features a groundbreaking autofocusing performance, & has been designed to surpass, the highly-acclaimed AF System, of its predecessor (The Nikon D5). The D6's AF System features a NEW high-density, 105-point, fully-selectable, all cross-type, Sensor-AF System, which allows photographers to focus, nearly anywhere in the frame, without the need for recomposition, before capturing a photo. The AF system features a newly-designed, focus-point layout, which reduces non-AF-sensitive areas, with a triple-sensor arrangement (For each, individual focus-point), which results in 1.6x more AF-coverage (Even while shooting moving subjects/In high-speed shooting-modes). The D6 features seventeen, selectable, group "Area AF" patterns, which are included to benefit sports photographers, wanting to eliminate distracting, foreground-objects (Ex: Tennis/Volleyball Net).

The EXPEED 6 Image Processing Engine is strong enough, to provide the camera's remarkable, photo- & video-quality, AF power, low-light performance, suppression of noise, distortion control, color reproduction, image-clarity, & more.
In order to capture the most-intense moments, during high-speed sports and action, the Nikon D6 is capabale of shooting 14 fps, for up to 200x continuous shots, at JPEG Fine quality. A beautifully-clear, optical viewfinder, allows you to experience real-time confirmation of your composition, without banding/flickering at high speeds, thanks to its highly-dependable mechanical shuter. A 180K-pixel "Advanced Scene Recognition" System, identifies the aspects of your scene, to ensure complete-accuracy in; auto exposure, autofocus, auto white balance, & more.

The Nikon D6 DSLR Camera (Body Only) is able to capture, beautifully-detailed, 16:9 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) Video, at 30p, 25p, & 24p, with an angle-of-view, that is approximately 1.5x the, separately available, lens's focal length. Full HD at 60 p, can be used for extreme, fast-action, or smooth slow-motion in a social-media post. The D6 features a built-in GPS, to know the exact location, that your footage was taken (Tip: Automatically record accurate location & time-data, to be stored with image/video files). The D6 includes 20x, unique, Creative Picture Controls, which can be previewed, in real-time, before applying to your images & videos. Helpful "Capture Tools", such as; Focus Peaking, Zebra Stripes, Timecode, & Electronic VR, are featured as well.
The Nikon D6 is capabale of capturing remarkable, 60 fps stills, in video mode. When using Movie "Live View" mode, holding down the shutter-release, can produce 2 Megapixel images, at approximately 60 fps, or 8 Megapixel images, at approximately 30 fps.
